Think seasons. Spring: raise beds, seed in trays. Summer: direct seed. Fall: bulbs, deadhead. Work the plant list, systematically observing each plant situation.,

For each plant on plant list: mark soil area with string, label, soil type (present and desired), planting method, timing, expected cut date.
Keep a calendar with retreat dates, frost dates, and work dates.
