The garden philosophy is raised-beds, using the broad fork, lots of weeding, letting many of the plants go to flower, turning the compost, cherishing the insects, and learning about the soil web of life.
There are many plants in the garden. The focus here is upon the garden vegetables, and the crop plan estimates this harvest. Other plants in the garden include herbs, perennials, and plants that volunteers.
Last season, the permaculture design method was found to be extremely helpful, yielding some work-in-progress demonstration site maps.
Timing-wise, we find that using the biodynamic calendar rewarding. We use this calendar in combination with our own schedule.
